In this class, you'll explore the essentials of nutrition from a Western Herbalist's perspective. Learn about macronutrients—proteins, fats, and carbohydrates—and discover the best food sources for each. Gain insight into how different foods can help manage specific conditions, from boosting iron levels to easing constipation. We'll break down the roles of vitamins and minerals, and how they support overall health. Additionally, you’ll receive easy-to-understand explanations of popular dietary approaches like the Autoimmune Protocol (AIP), anti-inflammatory diets, and the Low FODMAP diet, all tailored to enhance your herbal practices.

 

 

 

 

Tricia's Bio

Tricia is the Director at Traditions School of Herbal Studies, where she designed and teaches the Anatomy for the Herbalist Series, Thyroid Wellness Workshop Series, Business of Herbalism Workshop Series, and the Physical Assessment for the Herbalist and Acupuncturist Intensive. She also assists in teaching within the Western Herbalism program. Before joining the Traditions family in 2020, she taught Anatomy and Health Sciences in the Pinellas County School District and previously held teaching positions at Temple University, Florida State University, and Florida International University.

Tricia holds Clinical Certifications in both Western and Chinese Herbalism as well as a Flower Essences Practitioner Certification from Traditions School of Herbal Studies. She is a Clinical Western Herbalist, Clinical Chinese Herbalist, Certified Flower Essences Practitioner, Certified Wellness Coach, and a Certified Prenatal and Postpartum Fitness Specialist. Formerly, she was licensed by the Pennsylvania and Florida State Medical Boards as a Certified Athletic Trainer, in addition to being an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer and licensed teacher.

Her earlier career was dedicated to Sports Medicine, where she spent over a decade traveling with and providing medical care for collegiate athletic teams. She earned her Bachelor’s in Sports Medicine, Master’s in Sports Management/Physical Education, and completed post-baccalaureate studies in Biomedical Sciences.

After guiding herself into remission from autoimmune disease through intentional lifestyle changes, Tricia discovered the profound healing power of herbalism. Out of this journey, she founded Mama’s Essentials, her line of small-batch organic herbal products. Through her private practice, she also provides Herbal and Wellness Coaching to support clients on their own healing paths.

Tricia is passionate about educating and empowering others to create sustainable, lifelong changes that honor the body’s innate wisdom. Her mission is simple: to help you know and love your body, so you can give it what it needs to thrive.
