Here is a description of each class in the series:

  • Supporting Healthy Skin & Hair: Thursday, Jan. 9 @ 6 pm

The Ayurvedic pharmacopeia is rich with exquisite herbs, oils, and kitchen remedies that support our integumentary system, including hair, skin, and nails. Our skin serves as a reflection of our overall health, and in this session, we’ll explore both internal and topical herbs and tools to enhance your well-being. We will create a nourishing hair oil, so be sure to bring a 4oz jar to take home your herbal creation and start your journey to self-nourishment!

  • Botanical Art - Thursday, May 29 @ 6 pm

Over the centuries, botanical art in India has incorporated Ayurveda, mythology, history, and culinary practices, highlighting the deep relationship between people and plants. In this class, we will continue that tradition by exploring several beautiful herbal allies. We’ll use flowers and leaves as our medium to create prints, leaf rubbings, watercolor collages, and mandalas. Together, we’ll delve into seasonal medicinal herbs, learning about their uses while engaging our senses and incorporating them into our artwork. Several stations will be set up for you to create your own stunning botanical pieces to take home. This will be a fun and interactive experience—so bring your imagination and creativity!

  • Happy Hormones - Thursday, Aug 7 @ 6 pm

Irregular or painful periods, intense hot flashes, low sex drive, and decreased energy are signals from our bodies that our reproductive systems need support. In this class, we will explore powerful Ayurvedic herbs, remedies, and tools, including Shatavari, Goksura, castor oil packs, and fenugreek tea, to nourish and support the reproductive system. Discover how to align with the natural rhythms and cycles of your body at every age and stage of life, enhancing both sexual and overall health with these nourishing herbs. You'll have the opportunity to touch, smell, and taste the herbs while learning about their uses and energetics.

  • Managing Stress - Thursday, November 13 @ 6 pm

In Ayurveda, stress is referred to as "sahasa." This form of stress can lead to ojahksaya, or a loss of immunity, increasing the body's susceptibility to various diseases. While avoiding stress is the best strategy for treatment, when that isn't possible, it's crucial to protect the body through proper diet, sleep, and the use of supportive herbs. In this class, we will explore herbs and tools to help manage stress and maintain healthy levels. We’ll delve into the essential roadmap for life: how to effectively regulate your nervous system. You’ll gain valuable insights from Ayurveda, Western herbalism, neuroscience, and energy medicine to help tame the modern-day tiger. We will focus on two powerful herbs, Ashwagandha and Tulsi, both known for their stress-relieving properties. As a hands-on activity, we’ll create a Tulsi oxymel that you can take home—just bring a 4 oz jar for your herbal goodies!
